About Me

My experience as a qualified Social Worker spans over twenty years, which include working in various areas of family and childcare such as supporting families with children living at home, as well as when children are placed within various care placement settings, including adoption placements. My more recent employment within a local Trust has predominantly involved private law litigation within the various courts in Northern Ireland, following protracted court proceedings post parental separation.

My experience, training and core values has led me to strive to seek better resolutions for families in need.

Contact and Residence of children Disputes

Important relationships can be further fragmented and entrenched in difficulties, leading to family breakdowns and often lengthy  court proceedings if not managed sensitively and objectively.

I can work with parents and children from an objective and Independent perspective, helping to keep the vulnerable child/children as the focus of importance and main priority, while navigating the matters which arise during this challenging time of transition in the family life. I am committed to facilitating parents and families find a way through the stressful and often highly costly, lengthy battles, to the other side while holding the importance of all the relationships as a priority.

 My service can be offered pre and post separation with families in conflict over matters of Residence and Contact of the children in the family.  I am able to consider the various issues which may be prevalent, such as risk and potential risk factors, including where there is involvement of other services such as social services, to provide an objective, child and relational, solution focused perspective.

Mediation and Conciliation Service

I offer a mediation and/or conciliation service with parents, families and groups in order to address areas of conflict and disputes, aiming to come to a more agreed position.  This service can take place in person with face to face meetings and an agreed, neutral venue, together or separately (shuttle mediation) or on line if preferred.

Independent Social Work/Second Opinion Assessments

Being fully Independent means that I can be commissioned by Individuals, families, Trust Services, and legal representatives approved by the Courts to complete a various array of assessments which fall into my areas of expertise. These can include Parenting assessments, Contact assessments, and analysis of documents for Overview assessments.
